Overview
Crowd Tracker SG ("the app") is developed and operated by Pete Chua (individual developer, Singapore). This policy describes what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
Data We Collect
Data stored on your device only:
- App preferences such as sort order and filter settings
- Subscription receipt token (stored in device Keychain, encrypted)
Data transmitted to and stored on our servers:
- Your saved favourite facilities and per-facility alert preferences (weather, reopening, best-hour digest, threshold %) โ linked to an anonymous, randomly generated device identifier, not to you personally
- Your device's Apple Push Notification token โ used solely to deliver the alerts you've opted into; if you turn off notifications or delete the app, this token stops working and is automatically cleared from our systems
- Facility ID when requesting crowd data, best-slot predictions, or weather overlays โ this is anonymous and contains no personal information
- Apple subscription transaction ID when verifying a premium subscription purchase โ used solely to confirm your entitlement and issue an access token
Data we do NOT collect:
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Your device location or GPS coordinates
- Device advertising identifiers (IDFA, IDFV)
- Browsing history or behaviour analytics
- Any data from your contacts, photos, or other apps
How We Use Data
Facility IDs sent to our servers are used exclusively to return crowd capacity data, best-time predictions, and weather overlays for that facility. We do not log, store, or analyse which facilities individual users request.
Apple transaction IDs are used solely to verify subscription status via Apple's App Store Server API. We do not store payment card details โ all billing is handled entirely by Apple.
Third-Party Services
The app retrieves data from the following external sources:
- ActiveSG (Sport Singapore) โ crowd capacity data is sourced from ActiveSG's public facility pages. We are not affiliated with Sport Singapore or ActiveSG.
- National Environment Agency (NEA) / data.gov.sg โ weather, rainfall, lightning, and UV data is retrieved from NEA's public APIs via data.gov.sg.
- Apple App Store Server API โ used to verify subscription receipts. Apple's privacy policy governs data processed by Apple: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Apple MapKit โ the in-app map uses Apple Maps. Apple's privacy policy applies to map tile requests.
No advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking libraries are included in the app.
Push Notifications
If you enable alerts for a favourited facility, we store your device's push notification token to deliver those alerts (crowd threshold crossed, weather conditions changing, a pool reopening after a lightning closure, or your best-hour digest). You can disable any or all alert types at any time in the app. Uninstalling the app or disabling notifications in iOS Settings stops delivery; we also automatically detect and remove tokens that are no longer valid.
Data Retention
Data stored on your device remains until you delete the app or clear app data. Our backend retains crowd capacity snapshots for 90 days for historical trend analysis, after which they are automatically deleted. Raw JSON payloads are nulled after 7 days. We do not retain any personally identifiable information.
Children's Privacy
Crowd Tracker SG is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Since we do not collect your name, email, or any directly identifying information, data we hold (favourite facilities, alert preferences) is linked only to an anonymous device identifier that becomes permanently inaccessible once you uninstall the app or lose that device โ we cannot link it back to you to process an individual deletion request even if asked, since we never had anything identifying to search for.
For subscription management, cancellation, or refund requests, please use your Apple ID account settings or contact Apple Support directly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be noted with an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
